An important component of the UCN, will be presented at the NSDI2105 conference in Oakland California that will take place from 4 to 6 May. Jitsu, which stands for Just In Time Summoning of Unikernels, is a DNS server that spawns unikernels in response to DNS requests and boots them in real-time, with no perceptible lag to the end user. In other words, it makes much more efficient use of constrained resources and significantly reduces latency of those services for end-users. We’ve tested this on ARM-based devices, such as the Cubieboard2 and you can read more about the technology in the paper itself.
