Dr Richard Mortier from the Cambridge University Computer Lab recently presented work from UCN at the 5th Decennial Aarhus conference, (yes, it really does happen only once every 10 years!) on Wednesday 19th August. Titled Personal Data: Thinking Inside the Box, he described the Databox, a particular component of UCN’s Personal Information Hub, development of which is being led by Cambridge. The questions and panel discussion at the end of the session demonstrated that UCN’s goals directly address
current concerns of a broad section of the community, and the concept of the Databox as a component of a PIH was well-received as a way to begin adderssing those concerns.
The paper was written in collaboration with Nottingham University and Queen Mary University.
